TRIOTA strives to maintain feminist values central to Women’s Studies. As such it foregrounds egalitarianism, inclusiveness, the celebration and study of diversity and analyses of structures of power in society.
TRIOTA works to promote student research and activism in socio-political issues that affect all minority groups and aims to recognize and promote the academic achievements of Women’s Studies’ students. The organization centralizes the importance of activism and social justice issues to the development of Women’s Studies as a discipline.
As a student group on campus, TRIOTA seeks to unite Women's Studies students socially, academically, and politically through activities such as lectures, films, advocacy, potluck dinners, and other social events.
Membership is open to all undergraduate students at the University of Maryland, College Park who have completed at least two Women’s Studies course - including majors, certificates, and minors - with a cumulative women's studies and overall GPA of at least 3.0.
