The LGSA is formed specifically to promote the academic, professional, and personal welfare and interests of graduate students within the University of Maryland, College of Arts and Humanities, Department of Linguistics. It is committed to fostering a culture of scholarship & community.
Any current graduate student enrolled in the Department of Linguistics PhD program, shall be considered members of the Linguistics Graduate Student Association. They may thus vote at meetings of the Linguistics Graduate Student Association and may serve on its Executive Board, which consists of duly elected or appointed officers. The LGSA openly admits students to its membership and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, personal appearance, age, national origin, political affiliation, physical or mental disability, or on the basis of rights secured by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
