  • Description: Society for Advancements of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) is a national society of scientists dedicated to foster the success of Hispanic and Native Americans scientists. With idea of enhancing the diversity of the University of Maryland (UMD) community, we started a subdivision of the SACNAS society at our university, SACNAS-UMD Chapter. Our mission is to support and mentor Hispanic and Native American people in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field to advance in their careers at all different academic levels, from undergraduate students to individuals pursuing a postdoctoral degree
