Our mission is to form a diverse group who continuously works together with local kids in need of educational and lifestyle guidance. We aspire to help decrease the recidivism rate through mentoring sessions and volunteer outings year-round.
Anybody is eligible for membership as long as they commit to mentoring at the detention center one night a week for approximately 2 hours. Additionally, members must agree to create at least one lesson plan per semester that we will use at the detention center. In order to become a member, one can email us and we will set up an orientation session for him/her.
JFJ does not restrict membership or discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, personal appearance, age, national origin, political affiliation, physical or mental disability, or on the basis of rights secured by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
